Met up with my friend Zee this morning for a shoot at Bronte, i slept in 🙁 Woke up at 5:55, first light @ 6:03.. sunrise @ 6:38 and i arrived at the beach at 6:28
Quickly dashed down for some shots, only had about 20mins of shooting.
Did get my new Cokin Z kit tho, I will get some shots of it and do a review for the blog.
Bronte is a lovely spot for Sunrises, i dont think i have shot it the way i want yet.. i always get there a touch too late… time to harden up and get there earlier. Wasnt as cold as i thought, but was still pretty cold
Till next time…

Nice shot Jack.
If I can offer any advice, try bump the brightness/dynamic range up in the front foreground rocks. I’d probably do this by layer masking an over exposed image over the current image with a low opacity brush. If you’re not familiar with layer masking, I’ve spoken about it in small detail on my blog (http://www.alexwisephotography.net/blog/2009/06/12/tutorial-blending-in-photoshop/) But other then that, pretty shot 🙂

Ohh dude thank you so much, i actually took 3 exposed shots for this exact photo (-1, 0 and +1) so ill try this out tomorrow and post up the results!
Thanks a bunch, will report in 😀

No worries 🙂 It’s similar to HDR in which you’re bringing out dynamic range but is nice as the viewer probably won’t realise.
